red mail Walter Morrison (1836-1921)
The Malhamdale Local History Group are currently undertaking a project to bring together more information about this generous local and national benefactor, who was particularly active in supporting the Arts and Education. As an MP he proposed the first Proportional Representation bill and was a loyal supporter of the Co-Operative movement and Women's Suffrage. His country home was at Malham Tarn and we are hoping to find out much more, so if you have any anecdotes, pictures, documents or other information about Walter Morrison, please get in touch.
