red mail Fincher family of Newhills
William FINCHER and his wife Barbara GARDEN had nine children in Newhills and Old Machar. They were: Christina Fraser FINCHER (1827); Helen Hill FINCHER (1829); William FINCHER (1831); James Allan FINCHER (1834); Barbara FINCHER (1836); John Cumming FINCHER (1838); Robert Forbes FINCHER (1841); Jane Cumming FINCHER (1843); Grace Poole FINCHER (1847). None died as children. Tradional naming patterns do not appear to apply as both James Allan and Robert Forbes were named after Ministers of the Church of Scotland. William FINCHER was born in England around 1801. But where is the mystery!
