red mail Arthur Rice
I am trying to find out about a 2yr oldchild listed as Arthur Rice in 1851Scotland census. He was described as a vagrant. In the listing of people on the same site is a Sarah Mcquade aged about 32 (formerly seamstress) He turns up in 1861 census as Arthur Rice Cunningham living with a Gordon Cunningham and Sarah Cunningham. I would be interested to know if these were in fact his parents or whether he might have been Sarah's child before marriage or someone elses child completely. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sue
red mail Douglases of Tibbersknowe & Baitford
Seeking descendants of Robert Douglas/Douglass and wife Isobel Clerk/Clark. Their 9 registered children (Mary, James, Margaret, Robert, Jean, William, William, Elizabeth and Jannet) were born between 1736-1755 in locales such as Knoll, Know, Knowhead, Knowhead of Tibbers and Knoll of Tibbers -- probably all the same place (Tibbersknowe on old maps, and Knowehead, just off the A702 near Burnhead, between Penpont and Thornhill, on today's Ordnance Survey). There were also Douglases living at nearby Baitford in 1841 Census -- trying to figure out if these two groups are related.
