I am looking for information on the Youngston/Youngson family. They would have lived there in the early part of the 1800's. My GGG Grandmother was Mary Youngson and born on April 7, 1816 in Peterhead. The family immigrated to Quebec Canada around 1830-1832. They lated settled in Buffalo, New York. She married my GGG Grandfather, John McPherson, in 1834 and they later moved to Pittsburgh, Pa and then later to Illinois. . There is a Peter Youngson listed on the 1840 census with them and I wonder if this could be her father.

Looking for information on the MATTHEW families who lived at 47, St Peters St, Peterhead in the 1901 census. Names: Charlotte {nee Hill} widow of William Matthew, Lizzie dob 4th Oct 1881, Lottie dob 10th Oct 1882, Maggie dob 5th July 1884, Thomas dob 26th Dec 1889, Catherine {nee Hill} married to Alexander Matthew {ships officer merchant service}, Alexander dob 18th June 1886, William dob 6th Feb 1888, David dob 13th March 1891, Charlotte dob 3rd Sept 1894, Hilda F dob 18th Sept 1897. All the children's births were registered as MATHEW except Hilda who was registered as MATTHEW. In the 1891 census the same families were named MATHEW living at 13, Wallace St, Peterhead. Alexander sen was named as living at 47 St Peters St in his uncle James' will in 1906 in Victoria, Australia. Any information would be apprciated.

My Grandfather, Alexander Forbes Birnie was born in Peterhead. Not sure of the year but he died in Ireland in 1954. I think his family had something to do with boat building. After university he joined the Merchant Navy and served as a second lieutenant during the First World War. He had a brother who emigrated to Canada (Ontario I think), can't remember his name, he also had at least two sisters. Any information greatly appreciated. When I get the chance I'll check his gravestone for date of birth and add it in. Thanks.

James D (Duncan) Disher, 9 Sep 1887 in the District Of Hutchesontown In The County Of Lanark, and had a daughter Margaret Ellen Disher b. 1889 in Peterhead. James Disher's parents were James Duncan Disher and Margaret Maciver Doyle. Interested in related individuals, including Edward(s), Stevenson, Nicol, Watt and Clark from Peterhead and Aberdeen.
