Looking for information of Jethro Beale, b.c.1735 probably in Farringdon, Hampshire. he married Anne and had a daughter Elizabeth b. 1756 in Farringdon. He died in Farringdon in 1781. I believe there was another Jethro Beale in a previous generation who was Rector of the Church there and also a John Beale, his son. Any information on the family would be great.

Information sought regarding my Great Grandfather, William Arnold. He was employed as an Estate Groom at the Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital and College. Report to Trustees, dated 8 Feb 1915, reads - 'Arnold, the coachman, has informed me today that he has decided to enlist in the Army Veterinary Corps. Some time ago he signed a householder's form as being willing to join the Army and he has now been called upon to do so. He goes to Winchester tomorrow. I have made arrangements for one of our own men, who has been used to handling cattle, to take his place.'
George Carter Alton
I am trying to find a birth record for my great-grandfather George Carter. According to Census entries he was born in Alton around 1861. I have a copy of his marriage certificate from 1889 in Godalming, Surrey which gives his father's name as Thomas Parfitt Carter but I can find no trace at all of him. I cannot find George on any Census prior to 1891. Can anyone shed any light please?

My maternal grandmother, Clara Louisa Matthews was born in Selborne in 1877 and had two bothers, Thomas Arford George Matthews and Harry Matthews. Harry stayed living in the village until his death in 1959 and there is a brass plaque in St Mary's church stating he was a member of the choir for 70 years. I would be pleased to here from anyone who has any other information about the Matthews family in Selborne
