Seeking info on John James Gibson
Hi, apparently my grandfather was born in South Shields as noted on my Dad's birth certificate. I cannot pin a DOB but it would have been around 1888/9 due to his age when my Dad was born. At some point he moved to Australia (Sydney) and I assume it would have been after WWI. He married my grandmother in 1923 and my Dad was born in 1927. His name was John James GIBSON. I am also wondering if he had been married before (in England) as he was 38 when my Dad was born. Thanks, Leonie

Brigs, Barques and Snows.
My g.g.grandfather William Ross was a mariner (Mate and Master) sailing out of the Tyne during the 1840's, 50's, and 60's, and was associated with the following vessels: St. Peters, Cowslip, Queen of the Tyne, James and Francis. Interested to hear from anyone with ancestral connections to, or interest in, these vessels.
