I would like to hear from anyone who has details on the GOLSBY(GOLDSBY) family in St. Albans. I am trying to trace Joseph Thomas Canfil Golsby b. 1851 d. 1908. Also recorded in Census as Joseph T.C. Goldsby (1881) Joseph S.Golsby (1901). Joseph married Sarah Kiff, St.Albans 1873.

One of my Grandfathers called Alfred Allen was I believe born in st Albans around 1890. Apparently the family lived near the Cathedral. I believe there was a brother who emigrated to Canada. I'd be grateful for any information.

red mail Pte Ernest Charles Smith - killed in action WW1
I am looking for relatives of Pte Ernest Charles Smith #2361 bc 1895 who was killed in WW1 aged 21. He was with the 2/13th County of London Battalion (Kensington) which was known as the Kensington Rifles, and was killed on 2nd July 1916. He is buried in Ecoivres Cemetery, France. He was the son of T.B and E.E. Smith of Langley House, London Road, St. Albans. Please would you contact me if you know anything about this family.
