red mail Littlejohn/Fraser Family North Rayne
Looking for any information on Robert LITTLEJOHN from the Rayne/Culsalmond area, born around 1770. Robert married Catherine FRASER and lived at Moss-side, Rayne in the 1841 census. I think he might have died around 1845. Known children were Christian, born about 1821, Isobel born about 1820,and Mary born about 1822. This might have been a second marriage for Robert, but this unconfirmed.

handwritten note circa 1910 Dear Hellen (Helen Leone Mignon), The scotch address is the old home where father was born also where the Peters have lived some hundreds of years. It is 35 miles from Aberdeen where I was born also all of our family is about 6 miles from there , named Ythan Wells by the river of Forgue Aberdeenshire. The church that stands there beside the school is the one my dear father (George Peter) had the contract for two years before we came to America. red mail Rev Alexander Murray & Eliza Hardie Kirkton of Culsalmond
My 2 x great grandfather's sister Elize Isabella Hardie (b 20.5.1835 in Ordiquhill, Banff had an affair with the Rev Alexander Murray who was Church of Scotland minister in Culslmond in the late 1850s - early 1860s. His birthplace is shown on the 1861 census as Aberdeen. At that time the Rev Alexander was aged 31 and already a widower. I haven't been able to trace any details of his deceased wife. In 1861 he was living at Auchinleader? in the parish of Forgue. Eliza Hardie was living with him as a servant. They had an illegitimate child, Alexander George Murray, born 17.1.1862 in Aberdeen. On the birth certificate he is shown as a teacher. They married two weeks after the birth and the baby was subsequently legitimised. All three emigrated to Canada probably before the end of 1862. In Canada Alexander resumed teaching but not apparently the ministry. Was he defrocked or excommunicated? They prospered and Alexander George became a barrister and had numerous descendants. However it is likely that the scandal precipitated the seminal event in my family history; the migration of nearly all of Eliza's brothers and sisters to East Lothian and Edinburgh. Therefore I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has knowledge of this affair or is related to Alexander and Eliza.
red mail George Peter son of Alexander Peter/ Elisabeth Robertson Kirkton of Auchterless
Birth date and verbal stories (robertson) confirm (for me) that Alexander Peter and Elisabeth Robertson are Georges parents. Married 25 January 1795 in Drumblade. Children as follows: Margaret Peter 27 Jun 1797, Jane Peter 11 April 1799, James Peter 27 Sept 1800, Alexander 19 Jan 1803 and George 24 May 1812 in Auchterless and died 14 July 1882 in San Fransisco, California USA at aged 70 yrs .... although accounts written down circa 1920 state that George was the youngest of seven so maybe two died early and not listed? I would love to see or hear anything that confirms this, letters of relatives mentioning George as a stable boy for the Center Family or his marriage at Montquhitter 1842 to Margaret Center. Anything mentioning George working for/building the school before 1870 when he took his family to America.
red mail Charles John Anderson Abderdeenshire Drumblade
I am searching for information on my Fathers side, (my Grandad), all we know was that he was called Charles John Anderson, we presume he was born and raised in Scotland, although he married Gladys Olive Tribe in Bromley and lived the rest of his life in this area, which was where all four of his children were born. We think he could of been in The Blackwatch Regiment for a period before he came to Kent. He never spoke of any family and always maintained his birth certificate etc were destroyed in a fire. However I may possibly have found a link to Drumblade. Any help would be appreciated, however insignificant you may think the info may be. Thank you.
