Lt Col John Andrew Moran
Looking for any one with a connection to Lt Col John Andrew Moran ex Indian Army, he married a Lillian Mona Clarke (born India 1914) according to My Heritage Web site. He was born of Irish parents born c1905 in Northumberland and had a brother Terence ex Sergeant Royal Marines killed in action 1942. I believe the marriage produced a son Terence John Moran, possibly born 1930s.Any information would be of service.
I am after information on William Robertson and Elizabeth Stevenson. Not sure where/when they were born or married. William was a Stone Mason and they lived in Victor Harbor, South Australia in 1867 where they had daughter Margaret Grace Robertson. Margaret Robertson married aged 19 to Henry Grant Williams in Sydney, NSW. Her marriage cert is signed by a "Guardian of Minors" so assume her parents had either died or given her up. Unable to find when they arrived in Australia. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
WEBSTER, Ellen - schoolmistress 1841
On Census Night 1841, Ellen Webster was in King Street, City of Hereford, schoolmistress, aged 30, not born in Herefordshire. Apart from this entry, I can find no trace of her in the City of Hereford. Can anyone identify her? I don't need a lot of detail. I would be content to know where she was born and where she went after 1841. Perhaps she was Miss Webster of Chester. In 1838, Misses Webster and Booth acquired the Runcorn Hill Cheshire school. In 1843, the school was acquired by the Misses Marston. Both events were advertised in the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser. I do so hope that someone knows something about Ellen Webster. .
Seeking anyone researching the Lasbury surname in Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
I am researching my paternal family line and welcome anyone who has any information to get in touch please. My GG grandfather William Matthews 1819-1871 was born 'somewhere ' in England, emigrated to India where he was employed by East India Co firstly as Patrol Officer of Salt Revenue and was Deputy Collector Taxes when he died. He was married to a Mary who bore three children ; William 1846, Thomas 1849 & Charlotte 1853. Charles 1855, George 1858, Katherine 1862 & Richard 1863 were born from two or three 'native ' women. A Who's Who 1926 gives William living in Walmer in Kent but again there is no evidence to prove this .
