Looking for any information on James Hunt--who at the time of his marriage in Bonavista,Newfoundland was listed as a "Planter" which would indicate that he had immigrated to Bonavista Bay,Newfoundland from England or Ireland.I would think most likely England. He married Elizabeth Gatehouse at the Methodist Church in Bonavista in November 1842---they settled in Indian Arm(now Summerville)Bonavista Bay and had two daughters Jane(1843 & Mary Ann(1844). James died between 1844 to 1847 as Elizabeth re-married in December 1847. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

red mail John Kenny & Bridget Reynolds
Hi My g-g-grandfather James Kenny was born about 1820 and was a sapper and is in the 1841 census at the barracks at St Mary Northgate, Kent. He came to Australia in 1851 with his family and other sappers to help build in Perth and Fremantle. The records for all the sappers who came out on that voyage are nowhere to be found and both the UK and Australia say the other one has them. Can anyone help?

red mail Holcombe
My father was John Beverly Holcombe. He was an optician in Poole, Dorset. He was born in 1933 and had an elder sister, Valerie. She married Roy Clift. I know very little about my dad as his father died when he was 10. I know that he spent years in Bath and that his mother had a sweet shop in Streatham, London (possibly after she was widowed). Dad's birth was in the Midlands (another mystery). In the war he was evacuated to Market Drayton or Eastbourne (to an Auntie Anne, married name Sharpe). If anyone knows anything else about my dad's family I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

red mail UK D'Arcy records a real mystery
My ancestor John Osborne D'Arcy emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia in Feb 1876 with a stated age of 23. He sailed alone on the vessel Benan as a free emigrant. On his marriage certificate in Jan 1880 he gave his father's first name as Anthony and stated he was born in England. Where, we have no idea. I can find no birth or connecting record of John D'Arcy or any BDM record on an Anthony D'Arcy which can link to John.If there are any UK ancestors out there related to or with information on John or Anthony D'Arcy we would love to exchange info. Brian
